Just when I think that I don’t need another shirt pattern….who am I kidding??? I always need a new shirt pattern. Even better when there is a tunic and dress length option.

Made for Mermaids is back at it with their newest releases: Mama Catherine, Catherine and Dolly Catherine.

Mama Catherine is a yoke style top with a gathered bodice. There are three necklines, several sleeve options, and three different different hemlines.

My first version is a 3/4 length sleeve tunic with a lined curved yoke. This is a solid rayon spandex from Pretty Posh Prints. The drape of the rayon spandex is perfect for this tunic.

The tunic length is a curved hemline which also works well with the flow of the fabric.

I think I need to start making one solid piece for every pattern test because I am always looking for solids in my closet.

So I know I talk a lot about hating to gather fabric, but it is hard to hate gathering when the final product looks this good.

I was a little nervous about the yoke being lined, but the knit interfacing used really makes the neckline finish look great.

Can we talk a little more about the tunic length option and the bum coverage??? Simply said, I love it.

Overall, I love the combinations I was assigned for this first version!

For my second version, I chose to use the lined curved yoke again. I am not sure how the square yoke would look with my broad shoulders, but I am sure I will try it soon because it looks great on the other ladies.

The other options I chose were the regular flounce sleeve at the elbow length and the top length for the hemline.

This is the Zoey Brushed Poly Spandex from Pretty Posh Prints. I snagged it on sale recently and keep having to stop myself from going back and buying more.

Y’all. I have never been the most girly of girls (😂), but this top makes me feel so feminine and flirty.

I usually avoid flounce sleeves in boutique style tops. But this hits at a perfect length to still be functional for me. I wore this top to work last week and was able to treat my patients without any difficulty. Talk about a win!

The regular flounce (there is a fun high low flounce option too) was very simple to attach, and the hem is left raw. It took no time at all!

Even with the top version, this pattern has good backside coverage. This means I can pair it with skinny pants and not feel like I am showing too much.

I do not know how much more I can possibly say about this pattern so let me just hit you with the rest of the pictures.

I went from avoiding flounce sleeves to wanting to put them on everything! I really wanted to try the regular flounce sleeve on a more fitted top pattern.
