I don’t know about you, but I have been going through Pattern for Pirates new pattern withdrawals? It seems like forever since the Cocoon Cardigan released, and Judy has been killing us all with the Cross my Heart sneaks on Instagram for weeks. But the time has come for the newest P4P pattern right on schedule for the upcoming spring and summer.
The Cross my Heart Cami comes in three lengths: cropped, shirt and tunic. The scooped front and the slight v back can be worn either way, and there are three different decorative strap options. I tested out the T strap version in this floral cotton lycra that I received in a scrap pack from….I have no idea!! Knitpop? Sincerely Rylee??? I need to keep better records of my fabric purchases.
The fit is a little bit slimmer than I usually wear in my post baby body, but I actually don’t mind the slim fit. Plus, it makes it perfect for layering.
I was really nervous about sewing the straps and the binding. However, I took it slow and really love the results. I never thought I would have the patience or the skills to sew up thin straps like this. But in typically P4P fashion, Judy made the steps super simple. I sewed up the shirt length top in order to use it as a layering piece early this spring. I have styled it with the M4M Mama Ava in a rayon spandex.
And, of course, I had to style it as well with my favorite Cocoon cardigan, well, because I have worn it with just about everything this winter. This time I wore the cami reversed with the v style neckline.
I shouldn’t complain because some of the other ladies took the outdoor photos in much colder weather, but y’all, it was 30 something degrees outside. In a cami. Thank goodness I love you and your patterns, Judy.
I also made a simple, no frills version out of one of my favorite brushed polys from Knitpop, too.
I personally think the v looks better on the front for my body type. I will probably cut double v neck’s on my future versions.
Don’t forget to check out all of the other lovely testers for the Cross my Heart Cami. I am loving all of the x cross fronts and the low x backs. There are also some blog hacks coming your way from the P4P team. Plus, check out the girls version, the Heartbreaker Cami.
Until next time…sewing and sipping,
Stacey
*** I received the pattern for free as a part of testing. However, I would purchase this pattern at full price!***
