The Rory Dress and Skirt: Petite Stitchery & Co Pattern Test

As sad as I am for warmer weather to end, I am pretty excited about all the new fall and winter patterns that are starting to release.

This particular fall pattern has a special place in my heart as it was designed by one of my sewing world friends, Kelly from On Wednesdays We Sew. The Rory Dress and Skirt is her first pattern being released by Petite Stitchery & Co. (This is my affiliate link to the pattern.)

The Rory Dress and Skirt is a turtleneck bodice with a gathered circle skirt. A gathered circle skirt, you say? Why yes. This was such a great design feature to have a gathered Skirt with the fullness of a circle skirt.

Since the bodice is very form fitting, the pattern calls for 50% four way stretch but in a heavier weight. After rustling through my fabric stash (we won’t go into how big that is getting), I came across this beautiful solid burgundy liverpool from Pretty Posh Prints that had the perfect amount of stretch. Not all liverpool has good vertical stretch, so I was very thankful this solid did!

I paired the solid bodice with the main cut from my September Bee Box from Vinegar and Honey Co. which is a floral liverpool.

This dress pairs perfectly with leggings and ankle boots for this cooler weather.

Everyone knows how much I love a dress or a top that accentuates the natural waist.  This dress style works well for my shape!

You can grab yours now on Petite Stitchery & Co.  Check out the whole Fall Collection while you are there!

Until next time…sewing and sipping,

Stacey
