I have been sitting on these for a while, anxiously awaiting the releases. Primarily because I don’t sew for my boys enough. And when I do, it makes me so thankful that I will have these photos of them to treasure for years to come.
With that being said, let’s lead off with the Adventure V-Neck Shirt. I love the clean finish of a good v-neck.
I have been looking for a color blocking tee for a long time for my boys. I always seem to make raglans for them. When I try to make shirts with an all over print, I feel like they look like pajamas. I have been hoarding pieces of this dinosaur cotton lycra from Love Adore Knit Fabrics, and it was perfect in combination with a heathered gray cotton lycra.
The Adventure offers 3 different pieces to the front bodice and set in sleeves to play mix and match with. The back bodice is just one piece, but I think the combination is perfect, especially for a little pop of print.
Since we all love a versatile pattern, the pattern also has an option for a solid front bodice. I have had one cut out for over a week, but I haven’t finished it up yet.
Overall, I love this little pattern for my boys. I will be using this a lot in the future!
An adorable boy tee and a new top for Mama too!
Petite Stitchery has also released the Women’s Sweet Tea (and the Girl’s Sweet Pea).
I cannot get over how much I love these sleeves! These split tie sleeves are just the right bit of flair to add some variety to your wardrobe.
The sleeves are fully lined, which allows you to add some contrasting fabric or stick with the same fabric for a more subtle look.
The Sweet Tea is also a very versatile pattern. I chose to sew up the swing top version in a solid rayon spandex from Hobby Lobby since I am trying to incorporate more solid tops into my closet.
It has just enough swing to fit my curves. Plus, there is a tunic, high low dress and knee length dress option.
This is the elbow length sleeve, but there are also short sleeves or long sleeves available.
Now if only I can get better at tying bows. You can’t get anymore boymom than that!!
Make sure you head on over to Petite Stitchery & Co and check out the whole Spring Collection while its on sale.
Until next time….sewing and sipping,
Stacey
