Fabric Shop Highlight: Raspberry Creek Fabrics

Thank goodness for online fabric shops, especially shops you have learned to love and trust for good quality fabrics. As much as I love just making a quick run to the fabric store, I love getting the email that my fabric has been delivered. And then running home from work as fast as I can to throw it in the washing machine!!

Raspberry Creek Fabrics has become one of my top shops for seasonal and holiday themed fabrics from their custom Club Fabrics line. But recently, I have been exploring their other fabric options.

I have been needing to make a new jean version of the Patterns for Pirates SOS Pants since it’s re release last fall. I saw the heavy weight knitted denim in the shop and knew that it would be a perfect match for the pants I had in mind.

So this fabric technically has enough stretch both horizontally and vertically for Peg Legs, but I wanted more of a true pant look. Since the fabric has sufficient stretch, I was even able to use it for the waistband piece.

I really love how my SOS jeans turned out, and they fit like a glove. I really took the extra time to topstitch carefully for the most professional look.

I even snuck in some of the RCF Club mountains fabric for the pocket lining😉.

So every great pair of pants needs a cute top, am I right?

I have been eying the Women’s Gather Together Sweater from Petite Stitchery & Co since it’s release. I couldn’t hold out any longer when I saw this Club brushed hacci at Raspberry Creek.

I didn’t make any modifications to the pattern except the buttons. I had every intention to make actual button holes, but my sewing machine and I were not getting along. So I cheated. I sewed the buttons to both layers and skipped the button holes all together.

I may end up going back and finishing it the right way, but it is functional the way it is right now!

I love the tie front with the slightly longer back of the top length of the pattern.

So if you haven’t been to Raspberry Creek Fabrics recently, stop by the shop online to check out both their retail fabrics and their custom club line fabrics!

Take a look at some of my other recent RCF makes for the upcoming Valentine’s Day!

Until next time….sewing and sipping.

Stacey
