Mama Fiona: Made for Mermaids Pattern Test

I know, I know. There are a ton of cold shoulder patterns out there. I own a few of them. However, I have been wanting a cold shoulder pattern without bands or binding on the cut out.

Megan T. from Made for Mermaids must have read my mind. I am excited to share the newest M4M pattern, Mama Fiona, today.

Mama Fiona (affiliate link) is a cold shoulder top or tunic that has a clean finish with the cold shoulder. Plus, there is an amazing tank option that I will show you later.

The binding is all hidden on the inside which gives the smooth finish.

I sewed up the non-ruffle version for my tester piece.

I used this floral double brushed poly from Sincerely Rylee. It was the perfect weight and drape for this top.

This top length hits at the perfect spot. It works so well with my favorite dark wash skinny jeans.

It’s not very often that my husband comments on a top that I make, but this one is definitely hubby-approved.

I loved the tank version I kept seeing on others during testing that I decided to make a second version.

I knew immediately that I wanted to use this pattern for a workout tunic. I love to wear workout leggings, especially the Patterns for Pirates Peg Legs (affiliate link) but I hate to expose my backside to the world in these leggings.

This is the perfect length for good workout coverage.

The tank is made out of athletic brushed poly from Love Adore Knit Fabrics.

I have always tucked my sleeves up under my sports bra straps. I guess it’s an old softball habit. This has the perfect angle to wear without making me want to tuck up my sleeves.

Again, the hidden binding finish is so comfortable under the arms.

This will be in the wash constantly this spring and summer!

Mama Fiona and Fiona (girls version) are on sale for the release! Don’t wait!

Until next time….sewing and sipping,

Stacey
